Woo's A Pretty Owl Then?

This owl was slow going, probably because I've been doing a little bit of everything at the moment! But its finally finished! I love making owls , I have so much fun deciding on their little personalities and was accessories they should have.

I feel like I should call this owl "Molly Ringwald" Because it reminds me of the movie Pretty in Pink! If you haven't seen Pretty in Pink buy it and watch it immediately! this is the film my mum showed me when I realised I didn't dress the same as the other kids.

Here she is! I decided to do block stripes this time in a nice set of pastels, and then used pops of colour as accents.

So in love with her lil dinky feet/flippers?

She is filled with toy stuffing and rice to add weight!

Don't you just love the bow! Couldn't resist a girly touch!

This little lady with be winging her way over to Esty shortly (depending on how long Little Knitwit decided to nap for!)

Other than trying to get this finished lots has been going on! Little Knitwit has been testing how much he can get away with and testing mummy with it!

I've been trying to find a time to shoot my vintage inspired pyjama set , which I still haven't worn in an effort to keep it nice! I did however recommend the elastic I used to a lady at Tesco and managed to slip in that I'd made my own jimmies', she was less than impressed, but how can you expect someone who made their own wedding dress to be impressed by pjs! I know a wedding dress! Amazing!

And this week I also had the opportunity to go to my very good friends 21st birthday! And I used my up cycled moustache bag! Hopefully pictures of what I wore it with will be up soon!

How you've had a good weekend!

Much Love

We Are Gathered Here Today.....

It's Day 14 of Pinterest Fortnight! This is the end! It's the last day! And I cannot wait to relax and recover! I've found knitting needles in every room of the house and I have threads stuck to me constantly!
So the last day, now I have to say I was a bit stuck on this one. It needed to be grand and special! After all this is the Grand Finale! Which got me thinking to a Pinterest board that I haven't covered yet, yes its the secret wedding Pinterest board! Yes I have one, you have one! Everyone has one! You just have to admit it!

Now I am engaged so I feel I am perfectly justified in having a wedding Pinterest board, however I know that there is not one thing on that board that Mr Knitwit will like. At all. Not one darn thing! the problem is I'm a dreamer/hippie/punk/crafter/crazy and he's well not? He's very stable and sensible. Well they do say opposites attract!

For example I thought todays make inspired by my love of pinning weddings on Pinterest is adorable! He ummmm doesn't?

Without further ado here it is the Grand Finale!

I made a Bride and Groom owls! Yes I am that person and I had so much fun doing it! I took most of my inspiration from the eighties if I'm perfectly honest! ( gotta love the eighties weddings! all that lace!)

Mr Owl has his very own tux and top hat, as well as a knitted flower and a slightly worried expression, appropriate don't you think?

And of course his own little bow tie!

And well Mrs Owl? She has it all! Feathers, lace, tulle, a veil , beads!

No tacky wedding stone was left unturned!

And she has the wide eyed look of a women that doesn't realise how annoying living with men can be!!!!! Bless her! She'll learn!

Well I suppose that's the end? I've been trying to decide when to do this again and I'm thinking when I reach 1000 pins on my inspiration board. So I'll see you next week (oh I really hope its not reached 1000 by next week!)

Thank you everyone who's been reading and commenting , either on here or privately on Facebook. and for all the people who have retweeted me on twitter! I've had a blast!

Now what am I going to do with all this free time? I'm actually starting to feel naked without a needle of some sort in my hand! Eeeek!

Much Love

Well Arn't You a Little Smarty Pants!

It's Day 6 Ladies and Gentlemen! We are nearly half way through Pinterest Week! And I'm absolutely amazed that I'm managing to keep up!
So without further ado! Todays inspiration!

The origins for these can be found here. Now the reason I was drawn to these is because they are so obviously made for boys! And having a Little boy myself, I know how hard it can be to find awesome stuff for boys, there is always a huge selection for girls , but its always very limited for boys!

Now I'll start off by saying that mine is not half as adorable as these , but I know why! So I'm going to do a remake at some point after Pinterest Fortnight!

The problem is the green I think the reason they look so darn adorable is because of the tweed and plaid patterns that are used.

At least it gave me a chance to work on my baby bib pattern though! I'm fairly happy with it, I just need to add a couple of inches to the bottom and round off the corners a little.

I'm really pleased with the fastening though, I did a press stud / snap fastening, because I always preferred them on my sons bibs, but I covered it up with a button to match the theme of the project a little better.

The bow is perfect though! So adorable and perfect for special occasions! I can definitely see more of these in my future but with a better material choice and a little more length! They will be so perfect for giving as gifts to all the little babies that keep popping up!

Keep your eyes peeled for the remake on these!

See you tomorrow for the halfway point!

Much Love

Frankie

These Boots Are Made For Walking

Day 3

It's day 3 of Pinterest fortnight and I hope your enjoying yourselves as much as I am! I've found things on my Pinterest that I swear I've never even seen before! I'm starting to think that I pin in my sleep! But onwards and upwards! This is todays inspiration! And yes its an actual pattern, although I did tweak it a little bit! But the actual pattern for this can be found here.

And this what I made,

This is actually the second pair of booties I made using this pattern, but I stupidly didn't photograph the first pair before I gave them to the mummy to be, but I'll try and get a picture when the lil bump is born! The first pair I made were in red and had the strap across the top like in the original pattern.

For my second pair, I decided to omit the strap and improvise a bit so I could put on the huge, girly BOWS! I just love the colours together they really compliment each other and the tiny buttons make me go awwwwwwwww every time I see them!

If I'm using a pattern this is just the sort of thing I love to make, nice and easy without to many complications , it also knits up in the flat and you just sew up the seam at the bottom. And I would just like the thank Audrey from the design studio for letting people use this lovely pattern for free!

So this is the project for day three, but I definitely think I'll be seeing more of these little booties in my future! (not in a pregnancy way! in a "I love to knit adorable, little tiny things" kind of way!)

Have you ever made anything adorable just for the sake of it?

Much Love

Frankie
