Soft play, kurt cobain, vomit and embroidery.... Yep that pretty much sums up my week!

This week hasn't exactly been chaos, well at least compared to some of the weeks I've had (Christmas with the flu immediately springs to mind).

For started I've finished off an embroidery for a custom order with a lovely story, although I think that the story deserves its own post when the cushion is finished.

It's not my usual type of embroidery I mean there's not an owl in sight, but I do like it! It's based on pattern covers from the 1950s and 1960s.

I'm particularly pleased with my French knot gold buckles on the shoes.

And the French knot buttons on the coat which didn't photography well so you'll just have to take my word for it that they are excellent!

It's a very sweet face, embroidered face are a weakness of mine so I'm glad this turned out well.

I'm other news, I've started to re read love and death the story of who killed kurtCobain as a teenager I was obsessed with rock music and I think I probably read most things written about his death and life. Every time I read anything to do with Kurt Cobain I assume he killed himself and everytime the evidence points to murder, there's really too much to ignore.
Plus I love a good conspiracy theory!

This week me and little onitwit attended the nursery trip to a soft play area called "just kidding" in Stoke which was lovely and clean. We were having a lovely time until little knitwit became lethargic and said he wasn't feeling well. A quick temp check showed that he was burning up , so I popped him in the car and drove him home early. When we got home he promptly threw up on his daddy (I know right, at least it wasn't the car eh?) he's feeling a bit better now, but I'm worried in case we've passed it on to other children, although he was fine when we left in the morning.

Anyway poorly lil knitwit meant that most of yeaterday was spent providing sympathy and cuddles! But I did manage to start a new knitting order as well!

Anyway I'm off to stop him climbing the walls, he's still a touch warm and has a cough but otherwise he's really perked up and is missing nursery!

Much love

Starting on Delphine!

Okay so today I.......

Got ready to visit my big sister

Selfies happened!

Visited my sister took a good look at the pattern we will be making together!

Consumed Krispy kremes

Watched little Knitwit play drums

And traced and started cutting out the delphine skirt from love at first stitch!

I managed to squeeeeeeeze it out of the last of my grandfathers suit material!!! (Which kind of makes me sad becuase now I only have scraps left )

I cannot believe this pattern only requires one metre of fabric! And in my humble opinion more patterns should use this amount! It's gonna make for a very purse friendly pattern!

I've cut all if the pieces now and in itching to start sewing!

I hate it when I have to stop and start however it does mean I take more care and pride in what I'm doing so end up with a better garment!

Now I just need to decide what to do as my variation! After having a good wardrobe rummage, I'm desperately trying to make myself some more wearable clothes! Especially with winter coming!

I also made a start on little knitwits Halloween costume! I was going to buy one but they all just look so cheap and tacky and there never seems to be much for boys his age! They are either terrifying or babyish! And he didn't want to be anything scary (actually he wanted to be a football but we've compromised)

Anyways hopefully I'll have a finished delphine to show you tommorrow!

Much love

Stealing the Show

Today's craft comes from little Knitwit today not me!

The lucky little boy was given a magazine by his granny (momma Knitwit) this week,
The magazine was the cbeebies art one and as well as being filled with lots of cutting and sticking ideas, and colouring but best of all it came with this little craft kit!

Now don't get me wrong I love a good craft session, where there's paint everywhere and I'm left finding glitter for weeks! But sometimes you just need something quick and easy to do with kids which is why this is perfect, it's a self contained craft kit! Seriously everything you need is in the little baggy!

It contained build your own Pom Pom monsters and I'm happy to say little Knitwit basically did the entire thing himself in fact my only job was peeling off the sticky plastic at the back! (Yeah no glue was needed at all every component had it's own sticky tab! )

The kit contained pom-poms, eyes , stickers and other spongey elements! And this is what he made!

Seven little Pom Pom monsters!!!

I can't believe how well he did! And I can't quite believe how fuss less the kit was! No mess at all I'm definitely going to see of I can make up some of these for little holidays and trips! Although they might work well for parties too!

I haven't really been making at the moment, mainly I've been ironing. Yawn

Much love

I can hear the royal ballet calling

I remember quite clearly taking ballet when I was younger. Safe to say due to my lack of elegance and grace, and my inability to walk 5 steps without it sounding like a hoard of elephants, I was fairly rubbish. To the point where one day my Mother pointed out that my sister was better at ballet when she took it, and seen as I had always considered that my sister was the only person more ungraceful than me, I quit.
I did love the outfits though, still do. Any opportunity to wear a tutu and I'm there. I even sailed the Menai straits in a tutu once with some school friends.
I also think that little girls in tutus are the cutest thing ever! Nothing makes me smile more than a baby in a tutu! Which is why last night (whilst watching Bridget jones) I made eight little girl tutus!

This is only two of them.

I couldn't take more pictures because Little Knitwit asked me very nicely to come and play castles!

Which is where I'm blogging from! Yes a pop up castle! Little Knitwit was brought it by his god mother and I don't think either of us have been out if it yet! So I'm blogging from my new iPhone and using the blogger app! I'm hoping this will give me more freedom to blog when I have five minutes and I won't have to mess about getting laptop cables and procrastinating on Facebook/Pinterest/twitter! So what do you think? Can you tell the difference between laptop Frankie and phone Frankie? And how's the picture quality looking? I usually use my slr camera but I think I'll carry on using that for bigger projects and just use this for updates!

Must toodle , little Knitwit has decided that he doesn't want to read his book anymore and that a dragon is attacking the castle!

Wish me luck

Much love
