#makenine2017

There's been a huge buzz over on instagram about the #makenine2017. Basically this idea involves you picking 9 things your going to make over 2017.  Now I am a bit late to the party but its mainly because I had such a hard time choosing things I would definitely force myself to make! Being a fly by the seat of your pants sort of human I tend to just go with the flow.

So without further ado here's the final nine things that I will definitely try and make in 2017!

The burda hack dress. Basically I want to make this dress in a slightly more wearable colour, whilst I love this dress and I love the style but thew pale turquoise is only really suitable for summer I'd like to make a version in a purple/red colour and maybe in a floral?

Prima Raglan Top. After the success of my first version I've now decided that I want a huge wardrobe of these! One for every day of the week at least!

Simple sew jackie o suit. I really want to test myself and try and make a beautifully fitting suit. I'm thinking of using a black or charcoal coloured wool/tweed and having it as my funeral suit, or is that a bit grim?

Prima wrap skirt! I love how contemporary this skirt is! I am hankering after a mini one in a faux leather or suede.

The kimono Wrap dress. This dress is such a wardrobe pleaser I can just throw it on with a slip and its instant boho or I can team it with jean and a vest top and use it as a cardigan.

The simple sew Lily dress. Okay confession time I brought the copy of this magazine for this dress! I kind of want to make it in a lace with something lining it underneath. But I just love the style and I think it will make an awesome dressy dress.

GBSB wrap dress. This is another one of my wardrobe staples now. Its just so easy to throw on and I've had so many compliments! I definitely need a few more of these!

Simplicity 1365 - I have already made the halter top but I;d love to make a dress version by attaching a skirt and having a zip at the back not ties!

vogue v8974 , this is a vintage reproduction and I actually have the fabric to make a wearable toile of it. Hopefully it turns out nicely and then I have some liberty cotton to use on a proper version.

So have you joined the #makenine2017?

How to store Multi Patterns!

Omg its been a week since my last post. I'm basically the boy at the disco who spends the whole night snogging your face off and then ignores you for the next month.

All I can say is I've been busy! The wedding has gone from being a long time away "we've got loads of time" to being less than 10 days away!!!! I'm feeling pretty calm though, everything is getting done and I just can't wait now! Saying that I'm sure I'll be a mess on the actual day!!!

Anyway! I have managed to get some sewing done this week, and some cutting out and I have big plans to film a vlog tomorrow! But today I thought I'd share how I store multi patterns!

Multi patterns are a wonderful thing, all the promise of a coordinating wardrobe in one tidy pattern pack. Tidy of course until you've cut the tissue pattern and your trying to get them back into the packet! Then Its like a explosion in a tissue factory!

This is the easiest way I've found of keeping everything tidy. Make each "garment" a separate packet by folding a sheet of a4 in half and sellotaping up the sides! I find with most standard sized pattern packets that the a4 packets fit quite nicely!

and then if your super organised you can label whats in each pattern and what size you've cut!

No more spending ages searching through packets trying to find the right pieces for what you want to make!

Its as easy as that!!

In other news!

Lil man is well and truly settled at school and had his first school birthday party on Saturday! We both had a lovely time!
I'm getting a sore throat which is making me grumpy as sin!
I've started packing for Las Vegas! [VEGAS BABY!] and I'm planning on doing a lil video on what I'm taking.

Hopefully I can get back into the swing of blogging regularly again!

Much Love

New year!

New year! New me! I'm changing everything about myself as of that last chime of midnight!

Nah I'm joking, I'm pretty darned awesome so I think I might just make some alterations!

1- knit more, it's stupidly relaxing and it stocks my etsy shop!

2- sew more! I'm enjoying sewing clothes so much! In fact I recently brought some fabric with my Christmas money!

This is a check print polycotton from Minerva fabrics!

And this is a blue bengaline stretch suiting also from Minerva fabrics! (And apparently it does like to be photographed!)

3- be more organised! I actually started this already! I've cleared out our loft and given it a good sort! (6 bin bags if rubbish! Not even stuff we don't need just rubbish!) I did find some gems

A lil book on quilting quotes!

Leather elbow patches!

Vintage reproduction postcards and a neat vanity case!

Sewing patterns!

4- run more, not to get fit just to de stress!

5- make more cake, I like cake and I like to eat it. Win win!

6- do more craft fairs!

7- be awesome 100% of the time! (I'm currently working at like 95%)

Have you got any New Years resolutions?

Much love
